Chipley wildflower garden dedicated to the late Ralph Campbell Carter
The memory of wildflower enthusiast Ralph Campbell Carter was honored in April with the dedication of the Ralph Campbell Carter Wildflower Garden. The roadside wildflower patch, adjacent to the Carter family farm, is south of Chipley on State Road 77.
Carter, who died in September 2007, served as a Florida state representative and helped to establish Falling Waters State Park before joining Florida's Department of Transportation and leading its roadside beautification efforts. The garden, established by the Chipley Garden Club, is one that flourished under Carter's care. For more on the garden, go to DOT's press release.
